(More customer reviews)I just made the Bourbon-Glazed Baby Back Ribs with Sweet-and-Smoky Barbecue Sauce and, if this turns out to be representative, I'm looking forward to using this cookbook a lot! The ribs were delicious but quite straightforward. The recipes in this book are for real foodies; just about every one adds some twist that a beginner cookbook wouldn't have. But the twists are easy -- bourbon and liquid smoke in the ribs, pralines instead of plain walnuts in the carrot cake and orange zest in the carrot cake icing -- and makes the final product stand out. This book is not just for newlyweds (I've been married 14 years), but for anyone who likes big flavors and wants to cook unusual but not especially complicated dishes.
